Gimmelegs - energy saving lamps

“Gimmelegs” is designed to encourage the use of energy saving light bulbs by integrating the bulb into the design. Most lamps hide the light source while “Gimmelegs” makes the energy saving bulb an essential part of the design. The material for this lamp is elastic silicone; the light source is a standard E27 energy saving bulb.

Akana

Asymmetric shape of Akana makes it surprising and fresh contemporary luminaire. It has three different lighting positions. When position is changed Akana changes it´s essence and directs light into desired direction. Positioning is easy and it can be made without tools. Akana is made from opalic akryl.

Tent Cart & Carry On Campaign

Timo Niskanen & No Fixed Abode

The “Carry On” campaign brought public attention to homelessness. Timo Niskanen in association with “No Fixed Adobe” (Vailla Vakinaista Asuntoa Ry),” manufactured a prototype “Tent Cart.” The “Tent Cart” was designed for two main functions, sleeping accommodations and for storage during the day. In 2007 this cart was tested in the extreme conditions of Helsinki, Finland.
