2nd prize Martela´s "Inspiring Spaces Design Award" competition
The Finnish furniture and interior solutions company Martela organized an international "Inspiring Spaces Design Award" competition in order to find concepts and solutions for a new type of inspiring, creative office. Timo Niskanen won the second prize with his concept which enables employees to create a personalized and inspiring workstation in a changing workspace. The result of Martela's competition was announced at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2011. The competition is part of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 programme. Competition jury was composed of Martela's Design Director Petteri Kolinen, James Irvine, Kristiina Lassus, Ilkka Suppanen and Xiao Yong.

Benchmarked won the award
The Habitare 10 design competition's 10 000 euros award was shared to two winning concepts. Benchmarked concept got the second prize and 4000€ of it. Judge Alfredo Häberli comented Benchmarked concept: "Every old product has an story, which everybody doesn´t know. Knowing the history of the product gives added value to it and makes us to think to reserve it. Existing technology makes this proposal realistic. This can be foundings of new kind of attitude towards design".

Change & Benchmarked concepts are exhibited in Habitare fair

"Benchmarked" Recycled Seat - in HABITARE 10 Competition
"Benchmarked" Recycled Seat is shown at Habitare 2010 expo. It is designed in collaboration with Jussi Hiltunen. The objective of the competition is to discover, develop and implement ideas about a recycled seat suitable for public spaces. The winner will be selected by Professor Alfredo Häberli. The results will be announced at Habitare on the first of September 2010.

EcoDesign exhibition
Invited and participating in EcoDesign Exhibition, held in Helsinki Exhibition & Convention Centre on 1-5 September 2010. Theme of the exhibition is ecological lights that have been specially designed for the exhibition. Curator of the exhibition is Ingo Maurer.

Second prize and honorable mention in Markslöjd Light Prize 2009 competion. Theme of the competition was ceiling lights - plafonds.

Gimmelegs at Habitare expo 2009
Gimmelegs lamps are shown in Habitare expo in Helsinki in Protoshop booth. Protoshop is a new event jointly organised by Imu and the Finnish Fair Corporation for the Habitare design fair. Protoshop is presenting 11 new prototypes from 10 designers working in Finland.
